V0.1.0 Update

New Major Update V0.1.0.

It's been almost two weeks since the last update and I am proud to say I've been busy! Enough to finally commit to a major version number change. The delay in updates has primarily been sparked by the announcement of Yogcast's Tiny Teams Festival. If you are fortunate enough to not know me in real life, Yogscast is the ultimate goal of this game developing adventure. I started this journey hoping to not require publishers with an even smaller list of publishers I would respect enough to work with. With one exception, the Yogscast.  They, or their marketing partners Honest Public Relations and Fourth Floor Creative, will be the only publishers I would sign on with without any rational hesitation. Plenty of room for me to make a dumb decision and sign my soul away, right? The problem was I had not the slightest clue where to start and not enough publicity to remotely get their attention. Now with the Tiny Teams Festival, I get my chance and being an army of 1 I am confidence in my qualifications as a tiny team. So updates will probably be scarce as I polish up a demo, get some play-testing done, and prepare for my submission by July 27th. If you would be so kind as to download the game and help me playtest it, I would forever be in your debt!

But let's get back to the changes! This will be more brief than usual so I can give more time back to the game. I will likely unintentionally skip a few things.

What's New

  • Graphical Changes
    • Game Logo. Created Game Logo for Title Screen, splash screens,  game icons,  & more
    • Day/Night Cycle. Day and Night alpha changes. Temporarily removed to help with testing.
    • Equipment GUI. Added Equipment section to Inventory when opened.
    • Player Sprite Redraw & Animations. Entirely redrew sprites to move away from previously copied work.
    • Travel & Map GUI. Previous system caused a dialogue box to pop up and minimize the game. New system now is more user friendly and won't require opening the game back up.
    • Title Screen. Placeholder Title screen with New Game, Continue, Settings, and Exit/
    • Object HP Bars. For objects like trees that the axe can be used on.
  • Objects
    • Tool Wall. In Pawn shop, currently only gives and Axe.
    • Backpack Shelf. In Pawn shop, only gives backpack.
    • Glass Case. In Pawn shop, currently gives placeholder item but eventually will return guns or ammunition.
  • Mechanics
    • Equipment. Clothes and Backpacks equipable and removable.
    • Axe. Axe collision and animation draws.
    • Game Saving & Loading. Game only saves when sleeping.

Cheers!
